Bruised Ego and Bruised Butt

We are thriving... well we are learning to navigate Malta. After being misled and tricked we finally found a place to stay, and we managed to stay within our budget. Malta has had a property boom recently because of the growing gaming (online gambling) industry, which means landlords and agents are doubling and tripling apartment prices. On top of that everyone says you basically need an agent to have an apartment but they do not tell you there is an agent fee that is half a months rent plus an 18% tax! So needless to say we had to finesse our situation to even afford to stay here for school.
But ignore that mess what is really important is that Miranda made it and we are starting school!!!! We all made it safe and sound and got moved-in, first stop the Blue Lagoon. Cominoto island is lovely but if you ever get the chance, hike around and discover the secret buildings and swimming spots (stay tuned for videos to come). We even went cliff jumping, or well, Marisa jumped off and landed on her butt. Just take a break and walk around the main island as well: if you are able you can make it all around the Valletta Harbour area. After the mini-vacation around our new home, reality set in.
Today, September 27th, we went to orientation AKA intro classes all over again just with grad level reading... yay!
Travel Tips for Malta:
Don't trust realtors, you can drink the water, the public transportation is great, the cats are friendly, watch out for the swells into the streets (and buses), and most important keep your legs straight when you cliff jump!
So far so good.

Do pineapples grow in Malta? Is that why there is the giant pineapple in your photo?
